The Rundown
- The top-48 declared student-athletes will compete at either the NCAA East First Round in Jacksonville, Fla., or at the NCAA West Round at College Station, Texas, May 28-31
- The week's competition will serve as an advancement to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, June 11-14, in Eugene, Ore.
- The top-12 student-athletes in each event, plus the relay teams, from each First Round competition site will advance to the national meet
- Combined events (heptathlon and decathlon) are not contested at the First Round sites, as the top-24 declared student-athletes, in both the heptathlon and the decathlon, are advanced directly to Eugene, Ore.
- At both the First Round sites and at the NCAA Championships, the men will compete Wednesday and Friday, with the women's competition being held Thursday and Saturday
- Preliminary track events will take place Wednesday and Thursday, respectively
