The Crimson Tide will close the regular season on Sunday against Mississippi State
BATON ROUGE, La. – The Alabama men's tennis team (14-10, 4-9 SEC) fell 4-0 to LSU on Friday.
Despite the loss, Carlos Gimenez Perez and Enzo Aguiard were leading their respective singles matches against the Tigers (11-15, 1-12 SEC) when the match was clinched. Additionally, Matic Kriznik was tied in third set when the match was decided.
Match Notes:
- The Tigers jumped out to an early lead with doubles wins on courts one and two, respectively
- LSU continued to press, taking courts one, five and two in singles action to clinch the team victory
- Carlos Gimenez Perez was just one game shy of downing Calin Stirbu on court six when the match was decided
- Additionally, Enzo Aguiard was leading, 4-6, 6-3, 4-3, in a third set against Julien Penzlin on court three
- Matic Kriznik was tied in a third set, 6-4, 3-6, 2-2, against Sasa Markovic on court four
