Cadence Vincent captured First Team All-America honors in the 50 freestyle before securing second-team honors with the 200 freestyle relay team
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – Cadence Vincent highlighted Alabama on Thursday with a pair of All-America honors at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
Vincent earned her first career First Team All-America honor after placing eighth in the 50 freestyle. She would return to the pool moments later to aid the 200 freestyle relay team to a 11th-place finish as Kailyn Winter, Jada Scott and Charlotte Rosendale earned second-team honors.
Alabama concluded the second day of competition in 16th place with 33 points.
Meet Notes
- The First Team All-America honor was the first for Vincent, who now has five career All-America accolades including second-team honors from this year's 200 medley relay and 200 freestyle relay
- Vincent dropped two-hundredths of a second in the prelims for a career-best 21.57 to secure the sixth-overall performance during the morning
- The 200 freestyle relay team of Vincent, Kailyn Winter, Jada Scott and Charlotte Rosendale clocked a time of 1:2715 for 11th-place and Second Team All-America honors
- Diana Petkova clocked a season-best 1:56.57 in the prelims of the 200 individual medley
