
Garcia, Munguia Earn International Call-Ups

Kennedy Garcia will compete with Puerto Rico, while Madi Munguia represents the U20 Mexican National Team
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– Alabama soccer players Kennedy Garcia and Madi Munguia received call-ups from international teams this week. Garcia will compete with Puerto Rico's Senior National Team, while Munguia earned a spot with the U20 Mexican National Team.
Garcia and Puerto Rico are set to open the Turkish Women's Cup in Alanya, Turkey, beginning Feb. 20. Munguia will make her fifth training camp appearance with a Mexican Youth National Team on Feb. 16.
Kennedy Garcia, Puerto Rico Senior National Team
- Will compete alongside Puerto Rico at the Turkish Women's Cup
- Puerto Rico opens the tournament against Estonia, before facing Iran on both Feb. 23 and Feb. 26
- Competed with Puerto Rico at the 2024 Concacaf Gold Cup, assisting the game-winning goal in the team's victory over Panama during group play
- Concluded the 2024 season with a goal and two assists
- Has competed in 35 games over two years with the Tide, including both 2023 NCAA Tournament games
Madi Munguia, U20 Mexican National Team
- Will compete in a 10-day training camp beginning Feb. 16
- Suffered an injury prior to freshman season with Alabama
- Making her fifth appearance with Mexico's Youth National Team and first since receiving surgery in April of 2024
- Invited to the U20 National Team Training Pool
- Named a three-time First Team All ECNL Conference honoree
- Played in Houston NSG in high school
