
Six Soccer Players Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Gianna Paul, Melina Rebimbas, Maison Smith, Kiley Kukan, Kierson McDonald and Ulla Sharp earned the honor for their athletic and academic performance this season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama soccer team had six student-athletes earn College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District honors, the organization announced Tuesday.
Gianna Paul earned her third consecutive honor as Melina Rebimbas, Maison Smith, Kiley Kukan, Kierson McDonald and Ulla Sharp earned their first career nod.
To be eligible for the CSC Academic list, a student-athlete must have competed in 90 percent of the institution's matches played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's matches. Additionally, a nominee must hold a 3.50 GPA and be a sophomore both athletically and academically.
About the Nominees
- Gianna Paul leads the group, earning her third consecutive all-district selection
- Paul paced the Tide this season in goals (12) and points (31) while ranking second in assists (7)
- Paul concludes her career as UA's all-time goals (40) and points (94) leader
- Kiley Kukan holds a team-leading eight assists on the year, including two in UA's NCAA Tournament second round matchup against Stanford
- Melina Rebimbas ranks second on the team in assists (7), while contributing 13 points to the Tide's offense
- Maison Smith, Kierson McDonald and Ulla Sharp contributed to a strong UA defensive unit that shut out five teams
