Alabama (14-13) and Florida (15-10) battled through a close opening set, with neither team able to take a lead larger than two points through the media timeout with the Crimson Tide leading the Gators, 15-14. Florida opened its largest lead of the set immediately after the break, scoring four unanswered to move in front 18-15 before Alabama answered right back with a 5-0 run to swing back ahead 20-18. Four tie scores later at 23-23, the Gators scored back-to-back to claim a two-point win in the opener, 25-23. Florida took a 2-0 match lead with a 25-6 victory in the second set before the third set saw five tie scores early, with a kill from Hannah Parant tying it up a fifth time at 10-10. FROM HEAD COACH RASHINDA REED
"Today was not the outcome that we wanted but I was incredibly proud of this team. There was a fight within this team and, while it was a challenging season, culturally all the things we learned led to that last set where we just went after it until the very last point and that's something that I'm incredibly proud of. The future is bright for Alabama and these ladies helped pave the way and I'm incredibly grateful for all of them."
FROM SENIOR SOPHIE AGEE
"This team is really special. I have 17 best friends. This team has meant the world to me and I just told them that in the locker room. With everything we accomplished this year I think we shocked a lot of people and it makes me really happy to know that I've left the program like this and I can't wait to see the growth next year. This is a team to be scared of. I'm happy with the way us seniors left it and I'm really happy with what we have done this year."
