Former Alabama players make an impact in Week 11 of the NFL season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The National Football League concluded Week 11 of the regular season Monday evening. Below is a look at how former Alabama players performed on the gridiron last week.
Quarterback Bryce Young broke the Carolina Panthers' franchise record for passing yards in a single game, managing 448 yards and three touchdowns on 31-of-45 passing in a thrilling 30-27 overtime victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Young's 448 yards were a career-high for the third-year signal-caller and marked the first 400-yard showing of his career. On the opposing sideline, Falcons' safety Ronnie Harrison Jr. recorded 11 tackles, including a sack and one tackle for loss, two quarterback hits and a pass breakup. Harrison Jr.'s 11 combined tackles marked the most for the veteran defender since 2021.
Running back Derrick Henry was back to his usual self as Baltimore picked up its fourth consecutive win, downing Cleveland, 23-16. The veteran running back worked 18 carries for 103 yards and a touchdown, marking his fourth 100-yard performance of the season. Defensive tackle Quinnen Williams made an impact in his first game as a member of the Cowboys, recording four tackles, one and a half sacks, a tackle for loss and five quarterback hits in Dallas' 33-16 win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football. Will Anderson Jr. caused havoc all afternoon for the Houston Texans, recording four tackles, including two for loss, and one quarterback hit while also forcing and recovering a fumble in a 16-13 win over Tennessee.
Additionally on defense, Minkah Fitzpatrick recorded nine tackles from his safety spot, including a pair for loss, and a quarterback hit in Miami's 16-13 overtime win over Washington in Madrid, Spain. Defensive tackle Christian Barmore totaled three tackles and a two quarterback hits for the AFC East-leading New England Patriots in a 27-14 win over the Jets on Thursday Night Football. Dallas Turner lived in the backfield against the Chicago Bears, recording seven tackles, highlighted by two tackles for loss, one sack and three quarterback hits, notching season-highs in each category.
Running back Jahmyr Gibbs and wide receiver Jameson Williams were bright spots for the Detroit Lions on Sunday Night Football. Gibbs earned five receptions to total a career-best 107 receiving yards while notching 12 carries for 39 yards on the ground. Williams hauled in the Lions' lone score, finishing Sunday night with four receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown.
