
Four Alabama Soccer Players Earn SEC Postseason Awards

Larkin Thomason highlighted the group as the conference’s Newcomer of the Year as Gianna Paul, Nadia Ramadan and Melina Rebimbas picked up All-SEC nods
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –– Four Alabama soccer players earned Southeastern Conference postseason awards, the league office announced Thursday.
Larkin Thomason highlighted the quartet of Crimson Tide athletes as the SEC's Newcomer of the Year. Gianna Paul secured her fifth All-SEC honor in addition to earning her third consecutive first-team nod. Nadia Ramadan and Melina Rebimbas both notched their first All-SEC accolade after being named to the second and third team, respectively.
Larkin Thomason, Newcomer of the Year
- The Mercer transfer ranks second on the team in points, notching 18 for the Crimson Tide this season
- Has scored seven goals, second most this year, and tallied four assists
- Is a perfect 3-of-3 from the penalty kick spot, tying for third all-time in program history for made penalty kick shots
- Notched the game-winning goal in three matches, netting the deciding shot against Mercer, Texas and Missouri
- Ranks sixth among active Division I players for points per game (1.38) and seventh for goals per game (0.59)
- Scored the game winner against Texas off a penalty kick
Gianna Paul, First Team All-SEC
- Broke two 20-year-old Alabama school records, becoming the program's all-time leader in points (87) and goals (37)
- Ranks fourth among active Division I athletes in career goals, while eighth in career points
- Leads the Tide in goals (9), assists (6) and points (24) this season in addition to ranking second in the SEC for points, fourth in assists and fifth in goals
- Has tallied nine game-winning goals over her career, including two this season, to rank ninth in program history for the career stat
- Named to the Midseason Hermann Trophy Watchlist
- Earned First Team All-SEC honors in 2023 and 2024, in addition to securing both second team and all-freshman team honors in 2022
Nadia Ramadan, Second Team All-SEC
- Ranks second on the team in assists (5) and third in both goals (5) and points (15) this season
- Scored the tying goal for Alabama against No. 3 Duke in the 90th minute
- Netted a brace against LSU, including an Olimpico goal, to lead UA in the 2-1 win
- Scored UA's game-winning goal against Samford
- Assisted Alabama's game-winning goal against both Michigan and Lipscomb
- Missed Alabama's game against Tennessee to compete with Egypt in the African Cup of Nations qualifying matches
Melina Rebimbas, Third Team All-SEC
- Earned SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors after tallying a five-point game against Auburn, which included a brace and an assist on the game-winning goal from Paul
- Holds a team-leading six assists, which includes aiding game-winning goals against Louisiana Tech, Mercer and Auburn
- Her six assists rank fourth in the conference this season
- Assisted a crucial third goal against Texas as Alabama took a 3-2 lead in the match before both teams convert late-game penalty kicks for a 4-3 overall result
- Ranks fourth on the team in points, tallying 12 this season
- Also scored a goal against Mercer to help pace UA to a 3-0 victory while also notching an assist on the game-winning goal earlier in the match
