
Volleyball Drops Three-Set Decision to No. 3 Kentucky Sunday in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama volleyball fell in three sets to No. 3 Kentucky Sunday afternoon in Foster Auditorium by set scores of 18-25, 22-25 and 17-25.
After Alabama (10-10, 2-8 SEC) dropped the opening set to Kentucky (16-2, 9-0 SEC), 25-18, the Crimson Tide rallied to an early lead in set two before a 6-1 Wildcat run put the visitors ahead 15-12 at the media timeout. Kentucky reached set point at 24-19 and a pair of kills from Kaleigh Palmer and a third from Lily Gervase extended the frame and made it a two-point game as the Wildcats had to call a late timeout now at 24-22. Kentucky won the set on the next rally, 25-22, to take a 2-0 match lead. The Wildcats jumped ahead 11-3 early in the third before the Tide started to chip away at the deficit, drawing as close as three points before Kentucky called a timeout at 16-13. The Wildcats eventually pulled away and took the set, 25-17, to complete the sweep.
