
Cynthia Jemutai Snags First-Career SEC Weekly Honor

The announcement marks the Crimson Tide’s fifth weekly recognition of the season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama cross country's Cynthia Jemutai was named the Women's Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. It marked the third week this season that at least one Crimson Tide runner earned weekly recognition from the league.
Racing on UA's home course at the Crimson Classic, freshman Jemutai clocked a second-place finish across the women's 6k trail. Her 18:55.4 time was the fastest of any Alabama runner and led a Crimson Tide charge that saw three UA runners finish in the top nine.
