The Crimson Tide Foundation aims to raise $50,000 during Alabama Athletics’ National Girls and Women in Sports celebration with the Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation once again matching the first $25,000
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama Athletics Department is prepared to kick off the 39th annual National Girls and Women in Sports Day – a week-long recognition that begins Thursday, Jan. 30 and leads up to the day of celebration which falls on Wednesday, Feb. 5.
National Girls and Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) is an occasion dedicated to honoring the achievements of female athletes, coaches and leaders and highlights the power of sports to unlock the limitless potential of women and girls.
As part of Alabama Athletics' celebration of NGWSD, the Crimson Tide Foundation has set a goal to raise $50,000 for the Crimson Tide Scholarship Fund – the annual scholarship fund for Alabama Athletics.
To aid in the Tide's goal, the Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation will match dollar-for-dollar the first $25,000 raised for the Crimson Tide Scholarship Fund between Jan. 30-Feb. 5.
Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation Board Chair Brittany Floyd said, "The Alabama ONE Aspire Foundation is proud to partner with the Crimson Tide Foundation for the fourth consecutive year to support the financial health of deserving student-athletes as they pursue degrees and compete for championships at The University of Alabama. Through the generosity and collective efforts of our community, we have raised nearly $500,000 for the Crimson Tide Scholarship Fund over the past few years. We know that we can continue to make a meaningful impact for these young women, and we hope everyone will join us in celebrating their accomplishments by supporting the Crimson Tide Scholarship Fund."
