
Zimbabwean National Record Falls on Final Day of Orange and Purple Invitational

The Crimson Tide’s Donald Chiyangwa highlighted the final day of the meet by clocking 32.38 in the men’s 300m to set the Zimbabwean national record, coming only 0.02 seconds short of the African record
CLEMSON, S.C. – Alabama track and field's Donald Chiyangwa highlighted the final day of the Orange and Purple Invitational by breaking the Zimbabwean national record in the 300m via a 32.38 performance. Chiyangwa came only 0.02 seconds short of the African national record.
Christopher Crawford (shot put), John Landers (heptathlon), Doris Lemngole (women's 3,000m), Dismus Lokira (men's 3,000m) and Mye'Joi Williams (women's shot put) joined Chiyangwa with additional first-place finishes on Saturday for the Crimson Tide.

"There were some definite bright spots throughout the weekend, but we still have work to do as a team if we want to meet our goals for the season. It is important that we learn to battle through adversity when it comes around and always reach for the highest standard."
