Mye’Joi Williams Extends School Record to Close New Mexico Team Open

Williams launched a 17.68-meter throw (58-0.25) on her final attempt in women’s shot put to extend the Crimson Tide’s indoor school record she’s held since 2024
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Alabama track and field's Mye'Joi Williams highlighted the final day of the New Mexico Team Open by extending her school record in the women's indoor shot put via a 17.68-meter performance (58-0.25). Williams was one of 16 Crimson Tide student-athletes who captured a top-five finish in a field event during the two-day meet.
In shot put alone, Alabama steamrolled through the men's and women's shot put on Saturday, capturing five top-four finishes. In addition to Williams' school record, Christopher Crawford (19.41m | 63-8.25) and Trevor Gunzell (19.06m | 62-6.50) recorded the fifth-and-seventh-farthest marks, respectively, in school history.
