
No. 16 Alabama Opens 2024-25 Slate at Folds of Honor Collegiate

The three day, 72-hole event will include live television coverage each afternoon on Golf Channel
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 16-ranked Alabama men's golf team tees off the 2024 fall campaign when it competes at the prestigious Folds of Honor Collegiate. The three-day, 54-hole event will have live television coverage on Golf Channel throughout the event and is set to tee off Monday morning.
The Folds of Honor Collegiate was created to benefit the non-profit organization, Folds of Honor, that provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of military members who have fallen or been disabled while serving in the United States Armed Forces.
The 15-team field at the Folds of Honor Collegiate will play on the on the par 72, 7,213-yard American Dunes Golf Club trek. In addition to 16th-ranked Alabama, the 15-team field features six teams ranked in the preseason Bushnell/Golfweek Division I Coaches poll
The Crimson Tide Lineup
- Alabama's season-opening tournament lineup includes three starters who will see their first action wearing the script A
- Transfer Dominic Clemons, fresh off an outstanding summer in which he won the Scottish Men's Open and finished runner-up at the British Amateur Championship, qualified in the top spot and will lead the Tide this week
- Freshman Nick Gross, who came to Alabama as the No. 1-ranked junior amateur in the world, will make his debut as will sophomore Jack Mitchell, who will see his first collegiate action at Alabama this week
- Veterans Jonathan Griz and Jones Free return after each saw started in 10 of the team's 11 event last season
- Griz returns as the leader in stroke average (71.72) and average vs. par (+0.81), with Free (72.71, +1.43) ranking just behind
The Field
- In addition to the Crimson Tide, other ranked teams in the field include No. 3 Florida State, No. 8 Texas, No. 9 Illinois, No. 17 Arkansas and No. 22 Ohio State
- Other teams competing this week include Air Force, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Army, Grand Valley State, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State, Navy and Notre Dame
