Margaux Maquet and Maria Martinez-Vaquero earn their first professional title after finishing second in the championship round
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama's Margaux Maquet and Maria Martinez-Vaquero finished second in the championship round at the W35 Punta Cana on Saturday. Both UA student-athletes picked up their first professional title.
Maquet and Martinez-Vaquero defeated Victoria Osuigwe and Francesca Pace in straight-sets (7-5, 7-5) to advance to the championship round, before the doubles duo dropped the final match to Ariana Arseneault and Kayla Cross (4-6, 6-7(5)) to conclude their tournament run.
