With the result, the Crimson Tide remained undefeated at home, capturing its third consecutive draw in conference play
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– The Alabama soccer team (7-2-3, 0-0-3 SEC) captured its third consecutive draw to remain undefeated at home after battling the Missouri Tigers (2-6-2, 0-2-1 SEC) to a 1-1 decision on Thursday.
Missouri entered halftime with a 1-0 advantage after Milena Fischer (26th minute) fired a shot from the top of the box into the back of the net. It took the Tide only 22 seconds in the second half to net the equalizer as Melina Rebimbas took advantage of a free kick just outside the box.
From Head Coach Wes Hart
"Obviously discouraged with the result, only getting one point at home. We need to get three points at home, (that) is what our goal is. I don't think it was a lack of effort or not even necessarily lack of quality. I thought we played okay. We outshot them with three times as many shots. We had a lot of the ball, a lot of the territory, the things that we value. If we do that more often than not, we will come out ahead in most games. But give credit to Missouri. They clearly came in with a game plan of packing it in. The early goal obviously helped them because they could sit even deeper and sit even more. I thought we did some good things, and thought we were a bit unfortunate not to get more out of that one."
