Foster Captures Win in Opening Round of ITA All-American Championships

Foster will return to action Sunday to compete in the Pre-Qualifying Round of 64
TULSA, Okla. –– Alabama's Zach Foster secured the Crimson Tide's first win at the ITA All-American Championships, downing Harsh Parikh from Stanford in straight sets in the Pre-Qualifying Round of 128.
In his first appearance in the elite tournament, Foster upset Parikh, who was seeded 7-13, with a mirroring 6-3, 6-3, straight-set victory in singles. With the win, Foster advanced to the Pre-Qualifying Round of 64 where he will face Virginia's Mans Dahlberg, who defeated Texas A&M's Matthis Ross 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.
The ITA All-American Championships will serve as a qualifying tournament for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships. Ten singles players (eight main draw quarterfinalists and two feed-in consolation finalists) and four doubles teams (four main draw semifinalists) will advance to the national tournament.
