
Olympic Finalist Luisa Blanco Closes Her Competition in Paris in Women’s All-Around Final

Blanco (Colombia) accumulated an all-around score of 50.199 in the final to close her debut at the Olympic Games
PARIS – Former Alabama gymnast Luisa Blanco accumulated a 50.199 score in the women's all-around final during her debut as an Olympian. Blanco's performance made history as she was the first Colombian woman to compete in an Olympic final in artistic gymnastics.
Her highest score of the night came on the vault where she secured a 13.500 score. Blanco would follow up with a 12.866 score on the balance beam, which would ultimately be her final event of the competition. On the floor exercise, Blanco earned a 12.700 score before also registering an 11.133 score on the uneven bars. She would ultimately finish 23rd in the competition.
Representing her parents' home country of Colombia, Blanco became the sixth Alabama gymnast to compete in the Olympics.
