
Women’s Tennis Place Six on ITA Scholar-Athlete Team

The Crimson Tide also earned ITA All-Academic Team Honors for the 23rd consecutive year
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– Six Alabama women's tennis student-athletes were placed on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete team, the organization announced. Alabama has now placed at least six student-athletes on the academic list for the last eight straight years.
Anne Marie Hiser and Sydney Orefice earned their fourth consecutive ITA Scholar-Athlete nod, while transfer Margaux Maquet picked up her fourth overall honor after earning three accolades during her stint at Charlotte. Ansley Cheshire and Ola Pitak received the academic award for the third straight year, while Klara Milicevic picked up her second nod after being recognized as a freshman and sophomore.
Alabama also earned ITA All-Academic Team honors for the 23rd consecutive year after recording a 3.75 GPA in the fall and a 3.62 GPA in the spring.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners are factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).
