
Doris Lemngole Named Semifinalist for The Bowerman Award

The Crimson Tide’s freshman phenom is the first UA student-athlete since 2021 when both Tamara Clark and Robert Dunning were also named semifinalists for the prestigious honor
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Fresh off winning the program's first national title in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase, Alabama track and field freshman Doris Lemngole has been named a semifinalist for The Bowerman Award, announced by the USTFCCCA on Tuesday.
The feat marks the first UA student-athlete to reach the semifinal stage of the prestigious honor since 2021 when both Tamara Clark and Robert Dunning made the list. Lemngole is also the first, first-year freshman to be named a semifinalist on the women's side since Texas A&M's Athing Mu in 2021, who was ultimately crowned the winner.

- One of three women's track and field student-athletes to earn four individual All-America honors across all three seasons
- Earned a share of the SEC's Commissioner's Trophy after accumulating the most points, individually, at the SEC Outdoor Championships
- Steeple – first (10 pts.)
- 5,000m – second (8 pts.)
- First Team All-SEC and First Team All-American
- Coined by ESPN's Dwight Stones as "the fabulous freshman from Alabama"
