TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball added a proven arm to its bullpen in rising senior Catelyn Riley, who joins the Crimson Tide after three seasons at Ole Miss.
Riley owns a 24-18 career record and a 2.96 ERA across 86 appearances with the Rebels. This season, she secured the final two outs to earn a save in Ole Miss' big win over then-No. 2 LSU in Baton Rouge, the Tigers' first loss of the year. In 2023, she pitched in a pair of postseason victories over Baylor, earning the win in the elimination matchup to send Ole Miss to the Salt Lake City Regional final game against Utah. She originally hails from Dandridge, Tenn., where she was the 2019 5Star Prep Pitcher of the Year and East Tennessee AAA Miss Softball at Jefferson County High School.
Riley is the sixth newcomer slated to join #Team29 in the fall of 2024 alongside junior transfer Alexis Pupillo (UTIL – Northern Iowa) and freshmen Braya Hodges (P – Dothan, Ala.), Mari Hubbard (IF – Huntsville, Ala.), Kennedy Marceaux (IF – Kaplan, La.) and Audrey Vandagriff (OF – Bogart, Ga.). Alabama looks to return 11 players from its 2024 Women's College World Series team.
