Alabama’s Anne Marie Hiser Secures ITA Southern Regional Honors

The Crimson Tide senior received the Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship award for the second consecutive year
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama's Anne Marie Hiser picked up the Southern Regional Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship award for her dedication, leadership and achievement both on and off the court for the Crimson Tide women's tennis team. The senior is the first to secure the award in the program in back-to-back years.

- 2024 Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Scholarship Nominee
- 2024 CSC Academic All-District Team
- 2024 Second Team All-SEC
- Secured 13 singles victories for Alabama, including a pair of wins over ranked opponents
- Served in the lineup at the No. 3 spot and collected a 9-4 record
- Has earned a win in both the No. 4 and No. 5 spot in the lineup
- The senior defeated then-No. 113 Mariya Polishchunk of Texas Tech during the ITA All-American Championships on Oct. 6, 2023
- Downed Clemson's then-No. 123 Cristina Mayorova on Sept. 17, 2023, during the Debbie Southern Furman Fall Classic
- Hiser defeated then-No. 75 Mell Reasco of Georgia in straight-sets (6-1, 6-4) on March 28
- Hiser and doubles partner, Loudmilla Bencheikh, have remained in the ITA Doubles rankings since March of 2023
- The doubles duo earned their highest ranking (7th) on March 19 - marking the first Alabama doubles team to be ranked in the top 10 since 2015
- The two served at the No. 1 spot in the doubles lineup for the team for all but two matches this season and collected 13 victories overall, including 10 wins during the spring
- In the fall, Hiser and Bencheikh defeated Georgia's No. 1 doubles duo of Aysegul Mert and Dasha Vidamanova, who currently rank No. 9 nationally
