
Alabama Set to Play Cal in 2024 SEC/ACC Women’s Basketball Challenge

The Crimson Tide and Bears will meet for the first time in 24 years
Tuscaloosa, Ala. - The Alabama women's basketball team will travel to Berkeley, Calif., to face the California Golden Bears in the 2024 SEC/ACC Challenge, ESPN announced Wednesday. The teams will square off on Thursday, Dec. 5 at Haas Pavilion.
Network destinations and tipoff times will be announced at a later date.
About the Challenge
- Alabama and Cal will meet on the court for the second time in December with the Tide having the 1-0 advantage over the Bears
- UA's last SEC/ACC Challenge matchup was against Syracuse as part of the inaugural Challenge last season
- The Tide is 6-3 against ACC opponents under head coach Kristy Curry
- Alabama advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, while Cal played in the WBIT second round
