TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama baseball's 2024 regular season non-conference schedule will close out on Tuesday when the 25th-ranked Crimson Tide heads to Troy for a midweek with the 21st-ranked Trojans. The contest is set for a 6 p.m. CT first pitch and will air on SEC Network+.

Leading Off
- Alabama and Troy will meet for the 43rd time in series history and second time this season when the two teams square off on Tuesday evening at Riddle-Pace Field. The Crimson Tide holds the all-time advantage, 30-12, but trails in Troy, 2-4. Alabama enters Tuesday riding a seven-game win streak over the Trojans.
- The Tide and Trojans met earlier this season on March 6 in Tuscaloosa, with Alabama earning an 8-7 win. The two teams traded leads before a three-run homer off the bat of Gage Miller put UA in front for good in the seventh. Troy rallied for one run in the eighth but would get no closer as Alton Davis II secured the save.
- Alabama's last trip to Troy came May 8, 2019. That matchup finished at 7-3 in favor of the Crimson Tide. The two teams met in Montgomery last season for a neutral-site pairing with the 2021 matchup at Riddle-Pace Field being rained out.
About Alabama
- Alabama took a break in the for exams before going 1-2 in Starkville in a series with 16th-ranked Mississippi State.
- The Crimson Tide dropped game one of the weekend series with State, 13-3, on Friday evening at Dudy Noble Field.
- Mississippi State plated six runs over the first three innings to gain the early advantage. The Bulldogs then posted a six-run fourth to build a 12-0 lead.
- The Crimson Tide got three of their own in the fifth, but MSU followed with one run in the sixth to give the Bulldogs the run-rule victory.
- Alabama suffered an 8-1 loss to MSU on Saturday afternoon.
- The Crimson Tide was first to strike on Saturday thanks to a solo homer from Max Grant in the third. State came right back with three runs in the home half of that frame to take the lead for good. The Bulldogs added one more in the fourth to go with a pair of runs in both the sixth and eighth innings for the 8-1 victory.
- Alabama earned a 10-5 victory over Mississippi State on Sunday to avoid the sweep.
- The Tide plated four in the second before State answered with one in the home half of that inning. UA then widened the gap with three in the fifth and one in the sixth to make it 8-1 headed to the seventh.
- Following the stretch, Mississippi State was able to put up two in the seventh and a pair in the eighth but single tallies for Alabama in both the eighth and ninth ensured the 10-5 win.
- The Tide bats recorded 12 hits on the day with eight of the nine starters registering at least one knock. Ian Petrutz led with a 3-for-4 effort while Justin Lebron and Grant each posted two-hit days. One of Grant's knocks was a three-run homer while Bryce Eblin also recorded a home run, his a solo shot.
- Braylon Myers picked up the win with 3.0 relief frames. He followed starter Ben Hess, who allowed one run on four hits and one walk with four strikeouts in 4.0 innings before turning it over to the pen.
About Troy
- Skylar Meade is in his third season as head coach at Troy and entered the new year with a 72-46 mark across his first two seasons. A 2007 graduate of Louisville, Meade is assisted on staff by Adam Godwin, Riley McCauley and Ben Wolgamot.
- Troy finished 2023 with a 40-22 overall record, including an 18-12 mark in Sun Belt play. The Trojans advanced to the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional where their season came to an end after losses to the Tide and Boston College.
- The Trojans were selected to finish third in the Sun Belt in the conference's preseason poll, as voted on by the league's head coaches.

Alabama will close out its 2024 home schedule this weekend when the Crimson Tide welcomes LSU to Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The series opens on Friday at 6 p.m. followed by a 4 p.m. start on Saturday. Things wrap up on Sunday at 1 p.m. with all three games airing on SEC Network+.
