
Foster, Jones Named to CSC Academic All-District Team

Foster earned his second nod by the College Sports Communicators, while Roan Jones made his first appearance on the Academic All-District Team in his first year of eligibility
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– Alabama's Zach Foster and Roan Jones were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men's Tennis Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
Foster earned his second selection in as many years to the all-district team, while Jones made his first appearance on the list in his first season of eligibility.
To be nominated for the CSC Academic All-District Team, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA and must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Alabama CSC Academic All-District Honorees
- Both Foster and Jones are double majoring in finance and economics
- Foster, a junior, holds a 4.0 grade point average, while Jones, a sophomore, holds a 3.934 GPA
- Foster has maintained a national ranking in doubles since the beginning of April, reaching a season-best ranking of 38th nationally, according to the ITA
- He entered the NCAA Tournament ranked 51st in doubles, maintaining a top-56 ranking since April
- Foster won 11 doubles matches at either the No. 1 or No. 2 spot in the Tide's lineup
- He clinched the deciding point in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament to secure a 4-1 win over Charlotte with a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 come-from-behind victory
- His match-clinching victory in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament was part of a four-match winning streak in singles play
- Jones ranks second on the team in both singles and doubles victories, capturing 21 and 20 wins, respectively
- Additionally, the sophomore recorded a team-leading 18 singles victories in dual matches
- He closed the season by winning seven of his last 10 competitions with only two losses and one unfinished match in that span
- Jones also posted 11 doubles wins in dual matches, tying for third on the team
- He recorded the team's lone point against No. 13 Duke in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament and clinched the victory in UA's first-ever win over then-No. 11 Texas A&M to close the regular season
