
No. 9 Alabama Men’s Golf Earns 26th NCAA Regional Appearance

The Crimson Tide was selected as the No. 2 seed in the Chapel Hill Regional, which will take place May 13-15
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 9 Alabama men's golf team was one of 81 teams selected to compete in the 2024 NCAA Men's Golf Championships, announced Wednesday afternoon on the Golf Channel. The Crimson Tide earned the No. 2 seed in the 13-team Chapel Hill Regional in Chapel Hill, N.C., which will take place at the par 72, 7,349-yard Finley Golf Club, May 13-15.
With this year's selection, the Crimson Tide will make its 18th regional appearance under head coach Jay Seawell and its 26th appearance in the event overall.

"We are excited to head to Chapel Hill and thankful to the committee for being awarded the No. 2 seed in that regional. Our boys look forward to the challenge and are excited for the opportunity. There are a lot of quality golf teams that are going to Chapel Hill, so it will be a great challenge and we look forward to it as we prepare the next couple of weeks."
NCAA Chapel Hill Regional Information
- The 13-team field is headlined by No. 1 seed North Carolina, who is ranked No. 4 in the nation, followed by the ninth-ranked Crimson Tide
- Rounding out the region's top five seeds are No. 3 Georgia Tech, No. 4 East Tennessee State and No. 5 Northwestern
- The remaining teams in the Chapel Hill Regional include: No. 6 Baylor, No. 7 VCU, No. 8 LMU, No. 9 Long Beach State, No. 10 Clemson, No. 11 Michigan State, No. 12 Ball State and No. 13 Howard
- Three regional sites, including the Chapel Hill Regional, have 13 teams and 10 individuals and three have 14 teams and five individuals
- The top five teams and the low individual not on an advancing team from each regional site advancing to the 2024 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships hosted by the University of Texas, in Carlsbad, Calif., at the Omni La Costa Golf Resort, from May 24-29
- Alabama won the 2023 NCAA Norman Regional to claim the program's fifth regional championship in program history, which include: 2009 Galloway (N.J.) Regional, 2012 Athens (Ga.) Regional, 2013 Baton Rouge (La.) Regional, 2014 Auburn (Ala.) Regional, 2023 Norman (Okla.) Regional
- The Crimson Tide has advanced to nationals 12 times under head coach Jay Seawell, securing back-to-back national championship titles in 2013 and 2014
