
Kayla Beaver Named Finalist for 2024 USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year

The fifth-year senior pitcher has six wins vs. ranked opponents this season
OKLAHOMA CITY – Alabama fifth-year senior pitcher Kayla Beaver was selected as one of 26 finalists for the 2024 USA Softball Player of the Year award, the organization announced Wednesday.
This season with the Crimson Tide, Beaver is 15-7 with a 1.64 ERA across 24 starts, throwing 13 complete games and seven shutouts with 144 strikeouts in 145.0 innings pitched. She has six wins over ranked opponents, including then-No. 5 Georgia on the road on March 17 and a shutout over No. 3 Tennessee on April 28 in Tuscaloosa. This is the second straight season Beaver has been a finalist for the award, doing so last year at Central Arkansas while leading the Bears to an NCAA Regional appearance with a 25-7 record and 1.15 ERA and 194 strikeouts over 201.2 innings.
The list of 26 finalists will be narrowed to a Top 10 on May 15 before a Top 3 follows on May 20 with the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year winner announced in Oklahoma City prior to the start of the Women's College World Series.
