Davis II Named to Stopper of the Year Midseason Watch List

The sophomore is one of 59 players on the pared down list recognizing the nation’s top closer
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama's Alton Davis II was named to the 2024 Stopper of the Year Midseason Watch List, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) announced on Wednesday.
Davis II is one of 59 relievers on the NCBWA's midseason list for Stopper of the Year, an award which is given annually to the top relief pitcher in Division I college baseball. The list was pared down from an original 73-man list released in February.
Stopper of the Year Midseason Watch List
- The Crimson Tide's closer and one of the team's most reliable relievers in 2024
- Leads Alabama with four wins as part of a 4-1 record across his 15 appearances
- Added four saves to his stat line, a total that ties for seventh in the SEC
- Ranks third on Alabama in appearances with 15 overall, all in relief
- Recorded 29 strikeouts to tie for the lead among the Tide's relief group and tie for fourth overall on UA
