Alabama Inks Ohio State Transfer Diana Collins

The Lilburn, Ga., native will join the Crimson Tide for the 2024-25 season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's basketball team welcomes guard Diana Collins to the 2024-25 team, head coach Kristy Curry announced Tuesday. After spending her freshman campaign at the Ohio State University, Collins joins the Crimson Tide with plenty of collegiate and international experiences, including playing with Team Sweden in the FIBA U20 Women's European Championship in 2023.

- Joins Alabama by way of Ohio State, where she contributed to a Buckeyes team that posted a 26-6 overall record last season, included a 16-2 Big Ten record
- As a freshman, Collins made 18 appearances for Ohio State and contributed to the team's postseason run which included earning a No. 4 seed in the conference tournament and No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament
- She concluded her first collegiate year averaging 3.0 points per game and 1.2 rebounds per game, which included a career-high 10 points against Northwestern (Jan. 5)
Prior to Collegiate Career
- All-time leading scorer for Brookwood High School with 2,174 points
- Ranked No. 70 on the ESPNW's 2023 HoopGurlz Recruiting Rankings
- 4-star recruit coming out of high school by ESPNW
- Played for Team Sweden in the FIBA U20 Women's European Championship in 2023, averaging 16.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game
- Selected for the 2023 World Women's Nike Hoop Summit Team
- Named to the Georgia All-State team after leading Brookwood to its first state championship in program history (2023)
- Named Regional Player of the Year (2022)
- Played AAU for the Southeast All-Stars and FBC
- Earned honors student and scholar-athlete awards
- Former member of National Society of High School Scholars
- Her mom (Sandra) played basketball at West Florida; her dad (Linzy) played football at Missouri
