Stewart will join the Crimson Tide as its Director of Operations, while Dungee-Artberry will return for her second season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's basketball head coach Pauline Love finalized her staff with the addition of Alex Stewart and Chelsea Dungee-Artberry on Friday.
Stewart will serve as the Crimson Tide's director of operations after spending four seasons at Auburn (2021-25), while Dungee-Artberry will return for her second season with UA as the director of player development/recruiting operations and assistant coach.
During her time at Auburn, Stewart served as the Tigers' director of operations (2021-23) before being elevated to the role of assistant coach/chief of staff for two seasons (2023-25). Prior to Auburn, Stewart served stints at Colgate (2020-21), Georgia Southern (2015-19), Toledo (2012-15), Jacksonville (2011-12), Georgia Tech (2008-11), North Greenville (2019-20) and Agnes Scott (2006-08).
"Alex brings a wealth of experience, toughness and credibility to our program," said Love. "She has coached at a high level, helped build winning teams and understands what it takes to develop young women on and off the court. Her background as an elite player, proven coach and relationship-builder makes her a tremendous addition to our staff."
Returning in her previous role, Dungee-Artberry aided in Alabama's fifth consecutive 20-plus win season and fourth-straight berth to the NCAA Tournament during her first year at The Capstone (2025-26). Before arriving to Alabama, she served as an assistant coach at Tulsa (2024-25) and Troy (2022-23).
"Chelsea brings an elite-level perspective to our program as a former All-American and WNBA first-round pick. She understands what it takes to perform at the highest level, and that experience translates directly into how she develops and connects with our players every day. More importantly, Chelsea is like family to me, and I'm excited to have someone I trust so deeply helping build what we're creating here at Alabama."
