
Five-Run Fifth Inning Pushes Alabama to Game Two Win over Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – A five-run fifth inning pushed Alabama softball to a 5-1 win over Arkansas Saturday night at Bogle Park, evening the weekend series to set up a deciding rubber match Sunday.
A first-inning wild pitch put Alabama (31-11, 8-9 SEC) behind Arkansas (31-12, 10-7 SEC) early and the score remained 1-0 until the Crimson Tide broke through in the top of the fifth, with a fielding error and an RBI single from Lauren Johnson giving Alabama the 2-1 lead and a three-run home run from Jenna Johnson adding some cushion to make it 5-1. The Razorbacks only tallied two singles over the final three innings as Jocelyn Briski (7-2) and the Tide defense held on for the four-run win.
