Matic Dimic and Andrii Zimnokh captured singles wins to lead the Crimson Tide in the loss as four of six singles matches went into a third set
ATHENS, Ga. –– The No. 21 Alabama men's tennis team (10-7, 0-2 SEC) dropped its road match to Georgia (5-6, 1-2 SEC) on Friday, falling 5-2 in the contest to the Bulldogs.
Matic Dimic and Andrii Zimonkh paced the Tide in the loss, capturing singles wins during the match. After battling his way through a tiebreaker in the opening set, Dimic dominated set two to take a 7-6 (6), 6-1 win on court six. Zimnokh followed with a victory on court three, fighting his way through three sets for the win (2-6, 7-5, 6-4).

- Georgia jumped out to an early lead after taking doubles wins on courts two and one, respectively
- The two teams battled in singles play as four of six matches went into a third set
- Georgia found its second point with a win on court two but Dimic responded to give the Tide its first point of the day
- After taking the opening set against Freddy Blaydes 7-6(6), the UA freshman posted a commanding 6-1 decision in the second set to win court six
- The Bulldogs would move to match point with a win on court five
- Zimnokh, however, would move the Tide back within one, 3-2, with his three set, come-from-behind win on court three against Niels Ratiu
- Zimnokh rallied after falling in the opening set to secure the match with a 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 score
- Despite a contested battle for the remaining two positions, including tiebreakers in the second and third set on court one, Georgia would go on to win courts two and one, respectively, for the team victory
