The Crimson Tide moves to 12-1 on the year and 3-0 in conference play
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 15 Alabama women's tennis team defeated Arkansas, 5-2, on Friday inside the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility. The Crimson Tide improved to 12-1 on the season and remained undefeated (3-0) in Southeastern Conference play.
Alabama clinched the doubles point following wins on courts one and two. Anna Parkhomenko and Petra Sedlackova beat Lenka Stara and Grace O'Donnell, 6-3, to claim the first doubles match. The 20th nationally-ranked doubles duo, Anne Marie Hiser and Loudmilla Bencheikh, secured the doubles point for the Tide after defeating No. 25 Indianna Spink and Morgan Cross, 7-5.
The Tide opened singles play with back-to-back straight set victories from Klara Milicevic on court six and No. 116 Ola Pitak on court four. Milicevic defeated Anet Koskel, 6-1, 6-2, while Pitak beat Lenka Stara, 6-4, 6-1.
No. 83 Sedlackova earned Alabama's third singles win on the night, defeating Kelly Keller (7-6 (5), 7-6 (3)) with two set tiebreakers. Hiser secured the final point on court three for the Tide after defeating Morgan Cross, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (4).
