
Cryer Highlights Alabama on Second Day of NCAA Zone B Diving Championships

Colten Cryer reached the finals on the 1m board to highlight the Crimson Tide
ATHENS, Ga. – Colten Cryer highlighted the Alabama diving team on the second day of competition at the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships, reaching the finals on the 1m springboard.
Cryer scored 289.70 in the preliminary round to earn a spot in the finals, where he dove a 258.45 for a combined score of 548.15. The UA freshman would finish 18th overall in his first collegiate NCAA Zone diving event.

- Cryer posted his best dive, an inward 2-1/2 somersault tuck, in the fifth round to help solidify his spot in the finals – climbing four places in the final two rounds of prelims
- In the finals, he opened with a forward 2-1/2 somersault pike, his best dive of the round, for 54.60 points
- The performance marked a strong start for the Alabama freshman, who finished 18th overall in his first-ever collegiate NCAA Zone event
- Peter Edin joined Cryer in the 1m board competition, scoring a 225.55 in the preliminary round
- He recorded his best dive, a forward 2-1/2 somersault pike, in the fourth round for 48.10 points
- Courtney Russo competed in her second event of the week, the women's 3m springboard
- She finished strong, securing 50.40 points off a back 1-1/2 somersault 2-1/2 twist free, to earn her a total of 245.45 points in the event
- She finished 36th overall on the 3m board

- The men's 3m board will begin at 10 a.m. CT with finals starting at 12:15 p.m.
