
Alabama Closes NCAA Zone B Diving Championships

UA concluded the event with the men’s 3m springboard and women’s platform on Tuesday
ATHENS, Ga. – Alabama closed the NCAA Zone B Diving Championships in Athens, Ga., on Tuesday with the men's 3m springboard and women's platform.
Meet Notes
- Peter Edin's 317.20 paced the Tide as the UA junior placed 22nd on the 3m board
- He was highlighted by a back 2-1/2 somersault pike, which earned him 58.50 points
- Colten Cryer (313.25 points) and Paul Mathews (256.40 points) rounded out the event for Alabama
- Cryer captured two scores of 61.60 off a back 2-1/2 somersault tuck and a forward 3-1/2 somersault tuck in the second and fifth rounds, respectively, on his way to a 25th finish overall
- Mathews was highlighted by a score of 65.10 in his second round off a forward 3-1/2 somersault pike before finishing 38th
- Courtney Russo and Grace Hurley closed the day on the platform
- Russo's back 2-1/2 somersault 1-1/2 twist pike scored 51.20 points to move her into 23rd place
- Hurley opened with a forward 2-1/2 somersault pike (43.20 points) to pace her to 24th place

- Alabama will return Athens, Ga., to compete in the women's NCAA Championships
- The meet at the Gabrielsen Natatorium will begin March 20 and will conclude March 23.
