UA’s wins over the Owls and Golden Eagles extended the Alabama’s winning streak to five-straight matches
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– The No. 21 Alabama men's tennis team (5-2) picked up its fourth and fifth straight wins on Saturday with a pair of 7-0 victories against Kennesaw State (2-1) and Tennessee Tech (0-4).
It was the Tide's third 7-0 decision of the season with all three sweeps occurring at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Facility. Andrii Zimnokh, Roan Jones, Zach Foster, Matic Dimic and Yair Sarouk highlighted the day with singles victories in both matches. UA also saw four different doubles pairings record wins during the day.
From Head Coach George Husack
"A solid day of taking ownership of your court. The guys were steadfast with their pursuit of taking control of points as well as resilient when they were in a bind. I think last weekend took a lot more out of us than we expected, however our response to challenges today was superb. Very proud of their willingness to execute at a higher level than our last match in Lexington (Kentucky) and perform even better in the second half of the doubleheader. Now it's five straight weekends on the road. The confidence gained from our steady improvement since the start of the season will provide the fuel for the next opportunity starting with Northwestern and Wisconsin next week. The process continues and we're ready to keep moving forward."
