No. 21 Alabama Battles Top-Ranked Ohio State in 4-2 Loss at ITA National Indoor Championships

NEW YORK –– Highlighted by its strong performance in doubles action, the No. 21 Alabama men's tennis team (7-3) fell 4-2 to No. 1 Ohio State (10-0) on Friday in the opening round of the ITA National Indoor Championships.
Alabama posted a come-from-behind victory in doubles play to open the day strong. After the Buckeyes captured the first win on court three, Enzo Aguiard and Zach Foster downed the No. 1 pairing from Ohio State, 6-4. After a back-and-forth fight on court two, the No. 45 ranked doubles team of Filip Planinsek and Andrii Zimnokh claimed the final two games to take a 7-5 victory over No. 35 Robert Cash and Bryce Nakashima.
In addition to winning the doubles point, Planinsek emerged victorious in a match that saw both sets go into a tiebreaker, defeating three-time All-American and No. 67-ranked Cannon Kingsley, 7-6 (2), 7-6 (5).

- The Buckeyes, however, would claim the match with a 7-5, 7-6 (3) win on court five
