The award is the first for both Agee and Bertucci
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama volleyball's Sophie Agee and Francesca Bertucci have been selected to the 2024-25 Academic All-District Volleyball team, announced by College Sports Communicators Tuesday.
The award is the first for both student-athletes. Agee started all 27 matches for the Crimson Tide this season, leading the team with 316 kills. Bertucci started every match at libero with a team-leading 445 digs, which is the ninth-highest single season total in program history.
To qualify, student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA while competing in 90 percent of an institution's matches or starting in at least 66 percent of them. This year's two awards bring Alabama's all-time Academic All-District total to 30.
Agee and Bertucci will now move onto the national ballot for the Academic All-America teams, which will be announced Jan. 14. Five Crimson Tide student-athletes have earned a combined seven Academic All-America accolades in program history, with Leah Lawrence as the last to do so in 2017.
