The Crimson Tide saw a school record from Leonardo Alcantara and four Alabama Aquatic Center records in the meet
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A school-record performance from Leonardo Alcantara and four Alabama Aquatic Center records paced the Crimson Tide swimming and diving team to a sweep over Florida State and LSU in a double dual meet on Friday.
The women's team defeated the No. 13 Tigers, 157.50-142.50, and the Seminoles, 196.50-103.50. The No. 20 Alabama men downed No. 19 LSU, 167-133, and No. 22 Florida State, 191-109.

"Both teams took a great step forward today and we are starting to see what they are capable of.
"Proud of how we competed in the water and on the boards. We had a lot of athletes step up including a school record from Leo and a few facility records. Excited to keep getting better from here."
The Highlights
- Leonardo Alcantara set a school record and topped the 1,000 freestyle field by over three seconds with his 8:53.81 performance
- His time topped Mark Randall's 8:54.69 school-record swim in 2009
- The women's 200 medley relay team of Emily Jones, Kasia Norman, Jada Scott and Cadence Vincent set a facility record with a 1:35.10, topping the previous time of 1:35.81 by seven-tenths of a second
- Kaique Alves topped a 23-year-old facility record with his time of 52.64 to surpass Tennessee's Jeremy McDonnell's time of 53.11 in the 100 breaststroke
- Tommy Hagar clocked a 1:39.88 for a facility record and the top time in the 200 backstroke by over three seconds
- The prior facility record time was a 1:40.87 set by Auburn's Nathaniel Stoffle in 2024
- The men concluded the night with a facility record time of 2:50.28 from Alves, Charlie Hawke, Bernardo Bondra de Almeida and Toni Dragoja as the quartet topped a 2:50.49 mark set by Auburn's 400 freestyle relay team in 2008
- Additionally, Diana Petkova tied Lydia Jacoby's (Texas) time of 59.21 in the 100 breaststroke to earn a first-place finish in the event
- Charlie Hawke (1:33.16) paced the Tide in a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 freestyle while Hagar (1:39.88) led a trio of top finishes in the 200 backstroke
- Colten Cryer recorded an NCAA Zone mark on the 1m board with a 3:04.85 to pace the Alabama divers
