Former Alabama players make an impact in Week 10 of the NFL season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The National Football League concluded Week 10 of the regular season Monday evening. Below is a look at how former Alabama players performed on the gridiron last week.
Sunday Night Football showcased a handful of former Crimson Tide players when the Detroit Lions visited the Houston Texans. Detroit won the contest in come-from-behind fashion, thanks in part to pivotal performances by Brian Branch and Jahmyr Gibbs. Branch totaled 10 tackles, including one for loss, and added two passes defended, while Gibbs tallied 71 yards on 19 carries to go with 37 receiving yards. For the Texans, wideout John Metchie III caught five passes for a career-best 74 yards to go with his first career receiving touchdown. On defense, Henry To'oTo'o picked off his first career pass and added six tackles, including one for loss, along with a pass breakup.
Jalen Hurts produced another outstanding performance for the Eagles, guiding Philadelphia to a 34-6 win over the Dallas Cowboys. Hurts completed 14-of-20 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown, while controlling the game with his legs, contributing 56 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just seven carries. Najee Harris continued his consistent run in Pittsburgh's 28-27 win over the Washington Commanders. The Steelers' tailback rushed for 53 yards and one score across 21 carries.
Calvin Ridley of the Titans rounded out the group of offensive players for the week. Ridley was targeted nine times, catching five passes for 84 total yards and two touchdowns in Tennessee's loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
A'Shawn Robinson proved key in Carolina's 20-17 overtime victory over the New York Giants in Germany. The veteran lineman recorded seven tackles, two of which were for loss and one sack, to go with a quarterback hit and one forced fumble.
Anfernee Jennings and the New England defense terrorized the Chicago Bears. Jennings lived in the backfield, totaling four tackles, highlighted by a season-high two sacks, to go with three quarterback hits. In the secondary, Marlon Humphrey racked up five solo stops, a quarterback hit, one pass defended and a forced fumble for the Ravens in Baltimore's thrilling 35-34 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday Night Football.
