
Volleyball Falls to No. 22 Florida in Three Sets Sunday in Gainesville

The Crimson Tide returns home this weekend to host Mississippi State and No. 15 Texas
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Alabama volleyball fell to No. 22 Florida in three sets Sunday in Gainesville, with the Gators winning by set scores of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-17.
Alabama (10-12, 2-9 SEC) hung tough with No. 22 Florida (18-5, 9-3 SEC) in set one, trailing 13-12 near the midpoint of the set, but the Gators soon swung back ahead with a 7-1 run pushing them in front, 20-13. Following a Crimson Tide timeout, the home team held on for an eight-point win, 25-17. Leading 6-5 in set two, Alabama scored six in a row to pad its lead to 12-5. Florida chipped away at the deficit, eventually tying it at 16-16 and retaking the lead on the next point. The Gators carried the momentum to the end of the frame, winning 25-19 to take a 2-0 match lead. Florida was looking for a double-digit lead in the third, up 16-7, but Alabama fought back within five before the Gators were forced to call a timeout with the score now 18-13. Florida held on to its lead however, winning the set 25-17 to complete the sweep.

- Natalie Repetti earned her team-leading 23rd service ace, pushing her career total to 89
- Paris Thompson finished with a career-best three aces, surpassing her previous high of two set while playing for Notre Dame on Oct. 16, 2022 vs. Virginia Tech
- Senior Malia Moore and sophomore Gabbi LeBlanc made their first appearances of the season for the Crimson Tide
