Multiple Top-Five Finishes by Alabama Highlight Head of Oklahoma

The Crimson Tide secured at least one top-five finish in every race it competed in to open the 2024-25 season
OKLAHOMA CITY – A new season began Saturday for the Alabama rowing program, as the Crimson Tide gathered multiple top-five finishes in a full day of racing at the Head of the Oklahoma.
Alabama opened the morning with nine pairs rolling out in the Collegiate 2- against the likes of Oklahoma State, Tulsa and Wisconsin, as well as Southeastern Conference foe Oklahoma. Three UA boats finished in the top 10, with Riley Parbon and Ella Koors clocking a fifth-place time of 16:57.2.
In the afternoon, Alabama returned to the water with six total boats competing across two races, sending four crews in the Collegiate 4+ race and two in the Collegiate 8+ race. A trio of Crimson Tide 4+ boats logged top-five performances, highlighted by a second-place finish of 15:55.0 from UA coxswain Lauren Schneiderman's crew of Jayden Grisaffe, Olivia Knight, Shelby Schoeman and Jeanne Riemann. Alabama would then grab a fourth-place finish in the Collegiate 8+ race as Tide coxswain Ashley Sizelove's crew of Parbon, Ryleigh White, Avery Douglas, Koors, Knight, Grisaffe, Riemann and Schoeman completed the course in 14:36.0.
Alabama concluded the season-opening Head of the Oklahoma with a pair of night-sprint races. The Crimson Tide sent out its final 4+ boat for the Women's 4+ 500m Grand Final as UA coxswain Reagan Lewis's crew of Grisaffe, Knight, Emma Burnley and Emma Voelkerding clocked a third-place finish of 1:52.5. Two final UA 8+ boats hit the water for the last race of the day, the Women's Collegiate 8+ 500m Grand Final. Alabama's pair of crews finished fourth (1:39.1) and fifth (1:40.5), respectively.
