KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - No. 7/7 Alabama football was defeated 24-17 by No. 11/10 Tennessee at Neyland Stadium on Saturday, as the Crimson Tide (5-2, 2-2 SEC) suffered its second conference loss of the season.
Jalen Milroe finished the night 25-of-45 with one touchdown pass, adding 11 rushing yards to his ledger. Jam Miller paced the Crimson Tide's rushing attack, finishing with 42 yards on 12 carries. Justice Haynes contributed 22 yards and a touchdown on the ground while also hauling in five catches for 34 yards.
Ryan Williams led all Alabama receivers with eight catches for 73 yards and a touchdown. Germie Bernard managed 72 yards on five receptions.
Defensively, Deontae Lawson topped all Crimson Tide defenders with 11 total tackles and a sack. LT Overton and Justin Jefferson provided sacks as well, as Alabama finished with three total sacks on the evening. Malachi Moore was responsible for six tackles as well as a forced fumble and an interception. Jaylen Mbakwe hauled in his first collegiate interception in the second quarter.
Notes
- The Alabama defense forced three turnovers in the first half (two interceptions, one fumble), the most in a single half by the Crimson Tide this season.
- The Crimson Tide did not allow a point in the first half of play, the first time Alabama has shut out an SEC opponent in a first half since Oct. 22, 2022, against Mississippi State.
- Ryan Williams' receiving score in the second quarter gives him seven touchdown catches this season, the most by an Alabama freshman since Calvin Ridley (7) in 2015.
- Williams' eight catches are now a new career high for the freshman.
- Justice Haynes' five receptions now stand as a new career high.
- Malachi Moore's second quarter interception was the first for Crimson Tide safety this season, and his first since Sept. 16, 2023, at USF.
- Jaylen Mbakwe's second quarter interception was the first of the freshman's collegiate career.
- Alabama's forced fumble in the first quarter marked the seventh recovered fumble in nine forced opportunities (77.7 percent).
- Deonte Lawson matched his season-high with 11 tackles.
- Bray Hubbard managed nine total tackles, a new career best.

- 1:00 - UT | Tennessee immediately countered Alabama's field goal with a five-play, 75-yard touchdown drive, aided by a 55-yard catch and run. The Volunteers plunged into the end zone with a three-yard run (14-10, Tennessee).
