Softball Earns Two Wins Friday vs. West Alabama

The Crimson Tide continues its fall slate Sunday against Stillman
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball posted another pair of wins Saturday at Rhoads Stadium, defeating West Alabama in a doubleheader by scores of 6-3 and 5-0.
The Crimson Tide continues its fall schedule with another doubleheader against Stillman on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 1:30 p.m. CT at Rhoads Stadium.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Riley Valentine was a combined 3-for-4 between the two games with three doubles, an RBI and a run scored
- Audrey Vandagriff was 2-for-3 in game one, blasting a go-ahead three run home run in the fourth inning
- Marlie Giles was 2-for-2 in game two, driving in three runs on a double and a triple
- Braya Hodges closed out both games, throwing a combined 2.0 scoreless innings stranding the potential tying run at the plate in game one and retiring the side in order in game two
- Newcomers Emiy Winstead and Catelyn Riley each threw 3.0 shutout innings in game two, striking out four and allowing just one hit each
