
Alabama Softball Opens Fall Ball Slate with Doubleheader Shutouts Over Itawamba

The Crimson Tide continues the fall schedule against West Alabama Friday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama softball opened its fall schedule Sunday afternoon at Rhoads Stadium with a doubleheader against Itawamba Community College, winning 9-0 and 15-0.
The game marked the first of four fall dates for the Crimson Tide, which continues its fall schedule at home Friday, Oct. 18 with a doubleheader against West Alabama at 5 p.m. CT.
HIGHLIGHTS
- All five pitchers saw time in the circle, combining for 14.0 shutout innings
- Jocelyn Briksi allowed just one hit over 3.0 innings pitched with six strikeouts
- Alea Johnson fanned eight batters across 3.0 innings
- Kristen White was 4-for-5 on the day with four RBIs and three runs scored
- Salen Hawkins led the team with five RBIs, batting 3-for-5 on the day
- In addition to 4.0 shutout innings pitched, Catelyn Riley was also 2-for-3 with four RBIs including a two-run home run
- Larissa Preuitt led the team with four runs scored, going 3-for-4 including a triple
