The Crimson Tide captured wins from doubles duo Enzo Aguiard and Zach Foster and singles players Roan Jones and Andrii Zimnokh
ATLANTA –– The Alabama men's tennis team (0-1) opened its season on the road, battling the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (2-0) in a 5-2 loss Monday.
Enzo Aguiard and Zach Foster paced the Tide in doubles as the duo posted a 6-2 score on court two. In singles, Roan Jones and Andrii Zimnokh led UA with two-set wins on courts four and five, respectively. Jones would tally a 6-4, 6-3 victory, while Zimnokh went 6-3, 7-5 for the win.
From Head Coach George Husack
"We got our feet wet today with some good competition but Georgia Tech kept us from jumping into the deep end. We saw good doubles execution with Enzo and Zach while our new kids on the block (Andrii & Matic Dimic) were in a pair of tug-of-war battles. Roan did a good job of finishing and we will continue to make strides at the other positions. The match doesn't define us but rather gives us a good barometer of what we need to do moving forward."
