Alabama Battles Kentucky in Two-Day SEC Dual Meet

The Crimson Tide will compete in a three-session, two-day competition against the Wildcats Friday and Saturday
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The No. 19/18 Alabama men's and women's swimming and diving team will open the new year with a two-day dual meet against Kentucky. The competition will feature three sessions at the Lancaster Aquatic Center with the first two sessions on Friday at 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. and the final session on Saturday at 8 a.m.

- Friday Night Session: 4 p.m.
- Saturday Morning Session: 8 a.m.

Meet Notes
- The Tide held its top-20 ranking in the latest College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association poll as the men moved up to No. 19 and the women climbed to No. 18 before the winter break
- Kentucky enters the meet unranked after receiving votes in November's poll
- UA holds the nation's two fastest times in the men's 200 freestyle, paced by a 1:31.30 and a 1:31.97 from Charlie Hawke and Kaique Alves, respectively
- Additionally, Hawke ranks sixth nationally in the 500 freestyle with a 4:12.91 and 16th in the 100 freestyle with a 42.31
- Avery Wiseman paces the women's side with the nation's 12th fastest time in the 200 breaststroke at 2:08.24. Cadence Vincent's 22.10 in the 50 freestyle ranks 19th nationally while Jada Scott's 48.21 in the 100 freestyle ranks 20th.
- Both teams have a trio of top 20 relay times as the men's team ranks fourth in the 400 freestyle relay (2:47.95), 16th in the 200 freestyle relay (1:17.48) and 19th in the 400 medley relay (3:07.12), while the women rank 12th in the 200 freestyle relay (1:28.02), 15th in the 400 freestyle relay (3:13.95) and 16th in the 400 medley relay (3:32.67)
- UA set two school records in its last outing, the Tennessee Invite, with Hawke topping the 500 freestyle (4:12.91) standard and the men's 400 freestyle relay team of Zarek Wilson, Hawke, Alves and Tim Korstanje shattering the previous mark with a 2:47.95
