Former Tide Tennis Star Erin Routliffe Wins US Open Doubles Championship
Congratulations to Erin Routliffe, and partner Gaby Dabrowski, for winning the US Open Women's Doubles Championship on Sunday in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. This was the first Grand Slam title and first major title for Erin, who won back-to-back NCAA Doubles Championships in 2014 and 2015 while representing the Tide.
SEC Opener on Deck for Soccer
Tonight marks the Southeastern Conference opener for our seventh-ranked soccer team, which hosts Georgia at the Alabama Soccer Stadium at 6 p.m. CT. It's another top-25 matchup here in Tuscaloosa as the Bulldogs come in ranked No. 23. Reminder that admission is free, and tonight's giveaway is a soccer scarf to the first 300 fans in attendance.
Volleyball Wraps up Nonconference Slate this Week
Our volleyball team will conclude its nonconference schedule this week, beginning tonight at Troy. Our 8-1 squad then returns to Foster Auditorium for a Saturday matchup with Grambling State at 5 p.m. CT. Tickets are available for home matches at the doors on match day or through the Alabama Ticket Office throughout the week.
Cross Country Continues Season Friday at Southern Showcase
Coming off 1-2 finishes for our men's and women's teams respectively at the Memphis Twilight, our cross country teams are back in action Friday at the Southern Showcase. The men's race is set to begin at 7:30 a.m. CT, followed by the women's race at 8:30 a.m. CT at the John Hunt Cross Country Park in Huntsville, Alabama. Not to jump ahead too much but looking forward to having our teams race right here in Tuscaloosa on Friday, October 13 for the Crimson Classic!
Women's Golf Brings Home Second-Place Finish at Boilermaker Classic
Our women's golf team opened up its fall season last week in West Lafayette, Indiana, where we finished second at the Boilermaker Classic. Taylor Kehoe, Sarah Edwards and Elina Sinz each earned top-20 finishes to lead the team in its first event. Next up is the Mason Rudolph Championship, which takes place September 22-24 in Franklin, Tennessee.
Men's Golf Begins Fall Season at OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational
Men's golf will begin the fall portion of its schedule this weekend, traveling to Olympia Fields, Illinois for the Olympia Fields Country Club/Fighting Illini Invitational. This is a familiar site for our team as we have competed in this tournament for several years, finishing fifth in the 15-team field that featured six of the top-10 teams a season ago.
Fall Tennis Tournament Play Begins this Weekend
Both our men's and women's tennis teams will begin fall tournament play this weekend with the men hosting the SEC-Big Ten Challenge and our women traveling to Furman for the Debbie Southern Classic. Matches will be played throughout the day.

Limited Tickets Still Available for Nick at Noon
While three dates have already sold out, a limited number of tickets remain for two of the Nick at Noon luncheons including Friday, September 22 (Ole Miss weekend) and Friday, October 13 (Arkansas weekend). Tickets include lunch and remarks from Coach Saban and several other special guests.
University Spotlight
Congratulations to junior Kate Herndon for being one of 100 students from across the country, and the first from UA, to receive the Obama-Chesky Scholarship for Public Service. The award recognizes college students with a passion for helping others through public service.
