Alabama Prepares for 10-Day Foreign Tour

The Crimson Tide will embark across Spain to play three games against international competition
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama women's basketball players, coaches and support staff will depart Saturday for a three-game, 10-day trip to Spain. The team will visit the cities of Madrid, Valencia and Barcelona in what will be the program's first-ever trip to the country and third foreign tour under head coach Kristy Curry.
"This summer has been an opportunity for us to get a step ahead as far as the system and with six new faces I think it's going to be really important," said head coach Kristy Curry. "We love our leadership group, and we love our new faces. It's been a lot of fun to be able to attend practices because the foreign tour gives you a chance to be ahead heading into September."
The Crimson Tide will spend three days exploring each city and will play a single game against selected international competitors which include Madrid Select Team, Elite Sports Academy and Catalonia Elite.
The entire roster will be making the trip, including returnees Sarah Ashlee Barker, JeAnna Cunningham, Loyal McQueen, Aaliyah Nye and Karly Weathers. Joining them will be the team's six newcomers: Essence Cody, Reychel Douglas, Naomi Jones, Meg Newman, Jessica Timmons and Del'Janae "Burger" Williams. The team will practice one final time on Friday before departing Saturday.
Alabama's previous foreign tours include Italy (2015) and Canada (2019).
