Duckworth arrives to Tuscaloosa as a two-time NCAA champion and three-time British champion, as Pingel joins the Crimson Tide staff after seeing consistent postseason success at California Baptist
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama track and field and cross country head coach Dan Waters added Tim Duckworth and Jordan Pingel to the program's coaching staff, Waters announced on Thursday.
Duckworth arrives in Tuscaloosa after recently serving as a volunteer assistant coach with Washington for three seasons. The decorated student-athlete was a two-time NCAA champion in 2018 (indoor heptathlon, outdoor decathlon), and found success on the international stage as a three-time British champion. Duckworth currently holds the British indoor heptathlon record at 6,188 points.
Pingel joins the Crimson Tide staff after previously serving as an assistant coach the last two seasons with California Baptist. In his first season with the Lancers (2021), the former two-time all-conference student-athlete helped guide the CBU men's program to a Western Atlantic Conference title. Just last season, Pingel and the Lancers earned a perfect sweep at the WAC Championships, before securing program-firsts West Regional and National Championships appearances.

We can't wait for the season to start and for them to help prepare us for an exciting year."
